Thanks to John Link, we scored an invite from The Rolls Royce Bentley Club to attend their annual Concours D’Elegance Display and picnic at the Wesley Glen Waverley Campus on Sunday 14 September.

The weather was perfect, the venue magnificent and by 11am there were 11 Morgans lined up neatly in a row on the edge of a large field full of Rolls Royces and Bentleys with a ring of Jaguars around the outer edge. I have never seen so many Rolls Royces and Bentleys in the one spot at the one time. It was an incredibly impressive sight.

On the Morgan front, this event saw the first outing of Michael’s beautifully turned out, brand new Plus 4 with the new suspension which did cause great excitement amongst our group but not quite as much excitement as Michael’s wife’s apple pie which was out of this world.

We also saw the very first outing of our new VICMOG badge which will go on sale at our November AGM.

The organization of this event was very smooth and polished as one might expect from such an august body. There was a food stall and a large marquee and tables where you could have lunch. We were made to feel very welcome and had a great time wandering amongst the magnificent and historic examples of British craftsmanship

On behalf of all the VICMOG members who attended, I would like to record a big thank you to Ralph Piarre and the members of The Rolls Royce Bentley Club for inviting us to their wonderful event and for going out of their way to make us all feel so welcome.
